TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS THIS SUMMER

AlphaGalileo is always working to provide a better service. In response to
user feedback and in-house updates, we are making several improvements in
the next month.

We are simplifying the online forms so that uploading news will be faster
and easier. The new forms will include an improved 'upload attachments'
function, which means attaching images to releases, events, books and
broadcast items will be easier and more flexible.

Logged-in journalists will be able to sort items by embargo date and time.
This will make easier to be able to see when embargoes of news items will
expire.

Last, but not least, we are also enhancing the search options so it will be
easier to find the news you want from our archive of over 26229 of
items.

FOR CONTRIBUTORS: GET BETTER COVERAGE OF PEER-REVIEWED NEWS

If your news is sourced from a peer-reviewed publication such as a journal
or scientific magazine, we recommend that you include this information in
the "Peer reviewed publication and references" field in the online form.

This information is useful so that our journalist users can to see
at-a-glance the source of items when selecting the stories they are going to
cover.

We also recommend that you choose eye-catching, short titles to attract
journalist's' attention when browsing the site, or e-mails/RSS alerts.
Avoid generic titles and state clearly what is new in your research, to
emphasise its importance.

For more information on improving the coverage of your news, please contact
us at: alphagalileo@alphagalileo.org
